Admin Assistant

Job Title:  Admin Assistant – Part-time permanent position available, on a flexible basis but with a minimum of 25 and maximum of 30 hours per week required.

Salary:  Salary £23,000 (pro rata depending on hours), with additional annual company profit-based bonuses

We are looking for an Admin Assistant to join our friendly, supportive and welcoming working environment with a small team structure.

A bit about us

LC Ecological Services an independent ecological consultancy based on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. We work on a wide and interesting range of projects, from small-scale home improvements to large scale housing and solar projects. Our work involves conducting habitat and protected species surveys, usually to support planning applications, and implementing mitigation strategies once planning has been granted.

The position of Admin Assistant would be required to be office-based at our offices at The Old Squash Court at Rempstone Hall near Corfe Castle. We provide 28 days holiday per year (pro rata depending on hours) alongside the statutory bank holidays. Private health insurance is also available for permanent employees.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced Admin Assistant to assist with various office based duties including (but not restricted to):

  • Answering phones and monitoring the enquiries e-mail address and passing on messages or dealing with general enquiries
  • Preparing equipment (e.g. infra-red cameras, static bat detectors) for surveyors to take out in the field, including ensuring batteries are charged and memory cards are emptied and installed.
  • Filing and / or scanning of any paper field notes or other paperwork.
  • Chasing and filing field notes from sub-contractors and other members of staff.
  • Helping to arrange surveys - contacting sub-contractors, preparing Dynamic health and safety Risk Assessments and issuing to clients and surveyors.
  • Managing general office housekeeping such as office supplies.
  • Monitoring timesheets, and other aspects of project management such as whether invoicing is up to date for projects, and data entry of records onto project management software.
  • Providing administrative support for our Quality and Environmental accreditations.

Candidates should:

  • Have experience of working as an admin assistant.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft office (particularly excel and word).
  • Have good general IT skills and experience of different applications, preferably of project management software.
  • Experience of working both independently and within a small team.
  • With good communication skills.

An interest in wildlife and the environment would be beneficial.
